Preparing for Your First Visit at BIM

We are thrilled to welcome you to Breathe in Motion! It is normal to feel a little unsure about what to expect. To help you feel comfortable, here is a step by step guide for your first physical therapy evaluation with us.

Preparing for Physical Therapy Evaluation at Breathe in Motion

If you had a discovery call, you already know what we are all about here at Breathe in Motion – holistic, whole-body care. We committed to finding the root cause of your pain, not just treating the symptoms. To make the most of your appointment, we recommend a few things:

  • Prepare a list of questions you may have for your physical therapist

  • Pay attention to your symptoms and anything that seems to trigger or worsen your pain.

  • Come up with a goal list - Think about what you are training for, what activities you want to get back to, and how we can support you in achieving your dreams?

  • Reflect on any previous injuries you’ve had, as this information can be crucial in uncovering the root causes of your pain

First Physical Therapy Appointment - What to Expect

When you first walk through the doors, our welcoming staff will greet you and help you feel right at home. They’ll show you where to sit, offer beverages, and point out the bathrooms. Your therapist will then meet you up front with a friendly smile and take you back to your private treatment room.

From there, your appointment will begin with a relaxed chat, allowing your therapist to listen carefully to your health history. Following this, your physical therapist will then perform a comprehensive whole body evaluation to pinpoint the root causes of your pain. The best part? Treatment starts on day one! We will immediately begin addressing the identified root causes.

Setting Up Your Treatment Plan

At the end of the session, your therapist will collaborate with you to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan to help you reach the goals you set. You will know exactly what to expect at your next visit and throughout the entire health journey. We will outline the best offering at Breathe in Motion to help you meet your needs. You will leave feeling confident, with all your questions answered, and excited to embark on your health journey with us as your biggest cheerleaders!
